The 3rd GloFouling R&D Forum and Exhibition on Biofouling Management, jointly organized by the GEF-UNDP-IMO GloFouling Partnerships project and the Korea Research Institute of Ships & Ocean Engineering (KRISO), will be held from Monday 4 to Friday 8 November 2024 at the Westin Josun Busan Hotel, Busan, Republic of Korea. The Forum is hosted by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries of the Republic of Korea and will focus on the theme: ‘Shaping the future of biofouling management’, covering a wide range of aspects related to biofouling management, including:
- invasive aquatic species and their impacts;
- the latest research on innovative solutions for biofouling management;
- the latest approaches on monitoring, testing, early detection and rapid response;
- the prevention and control of invasive aquatic species in marine protected areas and particularly sensitive sea areas;
- the impacts of biofouling on ships’ fuel efficiency and GHG emissions;
- policy developments and compliance;
- the central role of managing biofouling in ports, shipyards and drydocks; and
- the value of gender equality in the maritime sector
GloFoulding invites you to submit a proposal for a paper, presentation and/or poster, in line with the above-listed themes. For more details, please see the organizers' Call for Abstracts.
