Since 2010, under the Hawai'i Okinawa Partnership on Clean and Efficient Energy Development and Deployment, annual ocean energy workshops have taken place. This year, hosted by Okinawa Prefecture, the 11th Okinawa Hawai’i Clean Energy Workshop will build on past success and expand to include clean energy more widely.
Presentation videos will be available throughout the workshop, and three discussions on presentation themes will also take place in a panel setting in real time via webinar. Sessions include, government initiatives and policy, hydrogen and clean transportation, ocean energy/resource use, energy education, and special presentations.
A keynote will be provided by Alan M. Oshima, former CEO of Hawai’ian Electric, and current Hawai’i State Economic and Community Navigator. Greetings will also be provided by Hawaii State Governor David Ige and Okinawa Prefecture Governor Denny Tamaki.
