Thursday, March 21, 2019 16:00 UTC (9 AM PT / 12:00 PM ET/ 4 PM GMT)
Presented by:
- Andrew Lowery, Fundy Ocean Research Center for Energy (FORCE)
- Jason Clarkson, Operational Excellence Consulting
In recent years, marine operators in the Bay of Fundy have attempted dozens of operations at the FORCE test site in the Minas Passage, from research surveys to instrument packages to electrical infrastructure to turbine deployment. Through both failure and success, these operations have yielded critical lessons for all teams involved and contributed to a valuable understanding of the approaches, methods, vessels, and equipment best suited to specific goals. The report, Lessons Learned: Marine Operations in the Minas Passage, will be an invaluable resource to future operators – supporting improved marine outcomes, improved health and safety, and the tidal energy sector’s growing need for guidelines and best practices.
