The Young Coastal Scientists and Engineers Conference (YCSEC) comes back to Nottingham, where it all began in 2005. YCSEC is for early career researchers and practitioners in the field of coastal sciences and engineering. It provides a supportive environment for MRes, MSc and PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and recently qualified practitioners to present and discuss research, and to share good practice. It is a great opportunity to interact with your peers, allowing you to expand your knowledge and network.
The interdisciplinary audience promotes connections and integration between early career coastal scientists and engineers focusing on both the physical and biological processes within the coastal environment. In the past, a diverse selection of topics has been presented, such as, but not limited to:
- marine renewables
- coastal ecology
- flooding and climate change
- coastal erosion and morphological modelling
- green engineering
- the effects of pollution
