Akademi Maritim Nusantara

Starting from the city of Surakarta, in 1962 an academy was founded called the Academy of Maritime Sciences (AIM). This academy is under the auspices of the Maritime Education Development Foundation (YPPK) Surakarta. AIM has 2 (two) departments, namely the Department of Ship Mechanical Engineering (TMK) and the Department of Commercial Shipping Management (KPN). In 1976, a similar academy was founded by YPPK Surakarta to replace AIM, namely the Private Maritime Academy (AKS) III Surakarta. The aim of the establishment of AKS III is to educate students or what is more popularly called cadets so that they will become reliable and professional maritime people.
