AZURA Wave Energy
EHL Group and NWEI have developed the AzuraTM Ocean Wave Technology for converting the endless supply of ocean waves into electricity and potable water to meet the rapidly growing global demand for renewable utilities. Unlike other ocean wave technologies, Azura extracts energy from both the heave (vertical) and surge (horizontal) motion of the wave, producing power from the relative motion between the hull and float. Since commencing operations in 2010, EHL Group and NWEI have successfully completed long deployment pilot scale projects in New Zealand and Oregon, and are pleased to announce the successful completion of two grid connected demonstration projects at the US Navy’s Wave Energy Test Site at the Marine Corps Base Hawai’i.
