El Colegio de la Frontera Sur (ECOSUR)
The Colegio de la Frontera Sur (ECOSUR) is a research center that is part of the System of Public Research Centers of the National Council for Science and Technology (Conacyt). ECOSUR aims to carry out and promote basic and applied scientific research activities in matters that affect the development and connection of Mexico to its southern border, giving special relevance to its environmental, economic, productive and social problems, as well as such as developing technologies and designing strategies that contribute to social welfare, biodiversity conservation, rational, efficient and sustained use of natural resources, and sustainable development in general.
