University of Sharjah
The University of Sharjah (Arabic: جامعة الشارقة, romanized: jāmiʿat aš-šāriqah; also known as UOS) is an Emirati private national university located in University City, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. The University of Sharjah (UoS) was established in 1997 by Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al-Qassimi, the ruler of Sharjah. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al-Qassimi envisioned a distinctive academic institution that would integrate Islamic and Arabian culture and traditions while meeting the educational needs of the United Arab Emirates and the Gulf region.
