Abstract
A collaboration project has been established between the companies Fred. Olsen Ltd in Norway, Supacat from Honiton and Scotrenewables Tidal Power Ltd. from Orkney that aims to deploy a wave energy device for commercial production of electric energy from ocean waves at the WaveHub site outside of Cornwall, UK. The device is a point absorber concept based on the BOLT design developed at Fred. Olsen Ltd. currently deployed at the east coast of Norway [1]. This paper gives a rough description of the technical solutions and points out some of the conceptual challenges experienced by the development team.
