Chabahar Maritime University

Chabahar Maritime University (CMU) is under the supervision of International Maritime Organization (IMO), which is the United Nations specialized agency with responsibility for the safety and security of shipping and the prevention of marine and atmospheric pollution by ships. In addition, CMU meets the requirement of STCW 2010 Standards and has obtained an ISO Certificate from TUV NORD Europe. Located on the beautiful beach of Chabahar Bay and the coast of the Oman Sea, Chabahar Maritime University is among the universities supervised by the Iranian Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology (MSRT).

Originally named Chabahar Maritime College, CMU was founded with the cooperation of University of Sistan and Baluchistan and University of Southampton, England, in 1976. For the first two years after its establishment, the then Chabahar Maritime College would be managed by British professors and staff.
