The Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI carries out research for practical applications in nine departments and aims to be an independent thought leader supporting society, politics and business. In our work, we not only apply a broad spectrum of advanced scientific theories, models, methods and social science assessment tools, but also continuously develop these using the empirical findings from the research projects carried out.

We use scientifically substantiated analysis, evaluation and foresight methods. Our assessments of the potentials and limitations of technical, organizational or institutional innovations help decision-makers from business, science and politics to set a strategic course and therefore support them in creating a favorable environment for innovation.
