Guangzhou Marine Geological Survey (GMGS)
Guangzhou Marine Geological Survey is a department-level institution directly under the China Geological Survey of the Ministry of Natural Resources. It is mainly engaged in national basic public welfare marine geological surveys, natural gas hydrates and other strategic mineral resource explorations, and comprehensive surveys of ocean and polar geology and minerals. It undertakes the research, application and promotion of marine geology basic theory and exploration technology methods; it undertakes the social welfare services and scientific popularization of marine geological survey results, materials and data. It is the investigation and trial mining of natural gas hydrate resources in China's seas.
