Silpakorn University (Thai: มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร) is Thailand’s leading arts and creative university, originally founded in 1933 as the School of Fine Arts and officially established as Silpakorn University on October 12, 1943. It is named after Professor Silpa Bhirasri (formerly Corrado Feroci), an Italian sculptor commissioned by King Rama VI to develop fine arts education in Thailand.
