Abstract
A new wave power device is presented in the form of a bipartite point absorber. A simplified linear theory is used to demonstrate its satisfactory performance. An elaborate third-order theory however throws more light on the beneficial interactions between the composing parts, and on the strong nonlinear effects, which influence the power absorption in a negative way.
