In this PMEC seminar, Baxter Bond and Luke Woodhouse, of the Alaska Center for Energy and Power, discuss their upcoming publication on the effects of hydrokinetics on li-ion battery lifetime and economics for a representative community microgrid. Their research explores the changes in battery cycling behaviour and replacement interval, as well as the estimated cost reductions needed before these technologies become commercially viable in remote Alaska
