Abstract
This article investigates the interconnection between marine sea wave generators and power distribution networks. In particular, it assumes that introducing a spatial offset between generators, and considering them as an unique array, it is possible to improve conversion efficiency. The proposed architecture consider an array of Wave Energy Converter (WEC) interfaced with an electronic power converter, able to rectify and manage the output power. In order to demonstrate the behavior former a single WEC mathematical model will be considered, latter it will be extended to the array. In the paper will be analyzed how the output signals from the WECs array are rectified and transmitted to the land station, using a controlled power conversion (Voltage Oriented Control VOC) and will be demonstrated how this configuration allows a greater degree of freedom in order to optimize the yield and efficiency of the generation.
