Tianjin Research Institute for Water Transport Engineering, M.O.T.

Established in 1974, the Tianjin Academy of Water Transport Engineering of the Ministry of Transport is a bureau-level scientific research institution directly under the Ministry of Transport. On April 18, 1974, with the approval of the Ministry of Communications, the Tianjin Port Sedimentation Research Station and the Southwest Water Conservancy and Water Transport Research Institute of the Ministry of Communications were merged to establish the Tianjin Water Transport Engineering Research Institute of the Ministry of Communications (referred to as "Tianke Institute"). On July 5, 1982, with the approval of the Tianjin Municipal Government, it became a resident unit in Tianjin. On January 1, 2010, with the approval of the Ministry of Transport, the name of "Tianjin Academy of Water Transport Engineering of the Ministry of Transport" (referred to as "Tianjin Academy of Sciences") was used. Located in the core area of Tianjin Binhai New Area, it has one headquarters and two bases, covering a total area of 410,000 square meters, with a total construction area of 160,000 square meters for scientific research buildings and laboratories.

The Academy of Science and Technology consists of 15 scientific research centers and 4 scientific and technological enterprises, mainly engaged in the research of basic, strategic and forward-looking common technologies and key technologies of major construction in the development of transportation science and technology. It has the National Engineering Laboratory of Port Hydraulic Construction Technology, the National Waterway Green Construction and Disaster Prevention and Control International Science and Technology Cooperation Base, the National Waterway Engineering Testing Equipment Measurement Station, the China-Indonesia Joint Research Center for Port Construction and Disaster Prevention, and the China-Bangladesh Joint Research Center for Port Construction Center and other 5 national-level platforms , with engineering sediment, hydraulic structure detection, diagnosis and reinforcement technology, waterway traffic environmental protection 3 transportation industry key laboratories, and Tianjin key laboratory of water transportation engineering surveying and mapping technology, built in Tianjin Municipal Transportation Industry Environmental Monitoring Center Station and Postdoctoral Research Station. The editor-in-chief of "Waterway Port" is a national first-class journal, which is included as a source journal by international search institutions such as "Cambridge Science Digest" in the United States.
