Abstract
The overall gross power potential of the Florida Current in the Straits of Florida is estimated, and different approaches to the problem are discussed. Although it is unlikely to be realized, a total gross potential of some 200 GW is shown to be consistent with published methods. Limitations and implications are also discussed in this brief note.
