Laboratoire de Mécanique des Fluides (LMFA)

The Fluid Mechanics and Acoustics Laboratory (LMFA) develops a continuum of research in fluid mechanics and acoustics, from the understanding and the modelling of physical phenomena to applied research, in collaboration with industrial partners and public institutions. Research is organized around 3 socio-ecocomic fields : Aeronautics and transportation, Risk and Environment, Energy and processes for industry and Health.

The LMFA laboratory was created in 1962 and associated with École Centrale de Lyon, then with CNRS (1973), Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 (1991) and INSA Lyon (2003). The LMFA is a laboratory of the Institut des sciences de l’ingénierie et des systèmes (INSIS).
