Abstract
This paper presents the application of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) Technical Specifications (TS) for a stage 1 feasibility assessment for the Roosevelt Island Tidal Energy (RITE) project in the East River, New York, NY. The intention is to provide a case study example to illustrate how this TS is applied. Following a description of the RITE project, field measurements and numerical modeling efforts are described, values of key resource statistics generated from these efforts are summarized along with other plots that describe the main tidal energy resource characteristics at the site.
