About Me:
Prof. Abdus Samad is a Professor in the Department of Ocean Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras). With extensive expertise in ocean energy systems, wave-structure interactions, design optimization, and AI applications, he is a globally recognized researcher and innovator in the field of ocean engineering. He has authored over 170 Scopus-indexed articles, edited multiple books published by Springer, and holds five patents.
Prof. Samad has led several prestigious international research collaborations with institutions in the UK, USA, Germany, and South Korea, focusing on marine energy and sustainable development. His contributions have earned him multiple national awards, emphasizing his impact on engineering and sustainability.
He has successfully executed projects funded by industry and government organizations, including Indo-Korean initiatives on marine energy. His research spans interdisciplinary areas such as offshore renewable energy, coastal resilience, AI-driven marine system optimization, and sustainable infrastructure development.
As an active global ocean engineering community member, Prof. Samad frequently organizes international workshops, conferences, and training programs.
